Holiday Loving is a mutual aid event supporting families in the South Bay of Los Angeles during the holiday season.

During Holiday Loving, we provide resources local families need and deserve — so they can do more than survive.

This is our fourth annual Holiday Loving event. Typically, our event serves a small number of select families, but this year we have the opportunity to host a resource fair serving all 455+ TK-5th grade students and their families at Catskill Ave Elementary School in Carson, CA!

To best serve these families, we need your support! Our goal is to provide 1 new gift for each student. We are also requesting in-kind and monetary donations, as well as volunteers interested in serving our community. Learn more about how you can help below.

Donate Items

We accept donations of a wide range of new and gently used items that we sort and provide back to our community during our events for free.

For Holiday Loving, we’re seeking items in the following categories: Clothes & Shoes, Baby Essentials, New Toiletries, School Supplies, and Toys & Books.

Attend our Fundraisers

Join us for a fun-filled day with the community to fundraise for our Holiday Loving event! We'll be crafting beautiful affirmation cards, which we'll share with all the students and their families.

With the donation of a suggested $10, you can enjoy arts and crafts, food, and community, knowing that proceeds support our Holiday Loving event! Choose from two different event dates/locations:

Can’t make it to our events? Host your own affirmation-card-making party at home! Submit your completed cards to our donation sites and we will share them with our families.

Volunteer

Community Loving is entirely volunteer-run. We’re a group of dedicated, welcoming individuals who care about our community. And we’re always looking for more help!

Our Holiday Loving volunteers work before and during the event on a variety of tasks. This includes sorting donated items weeks before the event during our “Sorting Days,” as well as set-up, staffing, and take-down during the Holiday Loving event.
